Alternative Program Review is underway — Keep informed and make your voices heard!
The Summit Alternative School Council (SASC) is keeping track of the review of our Alternative Program which is now being conducted by Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB). This review could result in major changes to the Program, or its elimination.

It is crucial that the voices of students and parents be heard during this review process. There is now a portal for Alternative students, parents and alumni to record a video testimonial, or share your concerns about the review: ASAC Video Testimonials. As well, there is an e-mail address the OCDSB has set up to receive public contributions to the review: elementary_alternative_review@ocdsb.ca. This is your chance to tell the school board why you value the Alternative Program. Please c.c. your message to programreview@asac-ottawa.org

As part of the effort to keep all Alternative families informed, the Alternative Schools Advisory Committee (ASAC) has set up a special program review web site. Here you will find up-to-date information about the progress of the review and related activities.

To help SASC keep all of our Summit families informed about breaking news, we are asking that you provide us with your contact information. (Due to privacy rules, the school cannot give this information to the School Council.) We don’t want to rely on sending home pieces of paper during the busy holiday season! SASC promises to keep your personal information confidential.
